Rebekah Shooting photograph of Marian Spainhower wearing 'Sticks' from thesis work at the University of Washington. My name is Rebekah J. I was born in Santa Barbara, CA. and spent much of my childhood there until we moved to West Seattle where I still live today with the most amazing husband, Dan, and our cat Ollie, who's super cool himself.

As the daughter of an architectural designer and a quilt maker, I have always been interested in exploring design and using my creativity.

In my quest to figure out what I wanted to do with my life I studied Interior Design, Drafting and Visual Composition at the Art Institute. I also studied Drawing, Painting and Printmaking at the community college level. It was not until I found the Metals program at the University of Washington School of Art, that I fell in love, and felt like I had a passion. I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Metals in 2005.

Recently married, and being of the age where many of my friends are also getting married, has provided me with the amazing opportunity of being an artist with in this special time.

I know how important this day is not only to the bride but to the husband to be, the mother of the bride and to the families and friends which both parties are joining. I hope to add a personal element to the outreach from one person to another in the form of symbolism of the day and of the love shared between each other.

The need for commemoration does not end at the wedding, there are many other days to rejoice and remember. I hope that I can aid in the celebration of any important time. See our blog for current happenings: http://rebekahjdesigns.blogspot.com/
