Bridges. They span gaps, safely moving us over raging waters, or quickly passing us through great divides. But, while they are physical objects in plain sight, bridges also pose a majestic metaphor. Most often we can’t see these solitary structures as they are crossed, but instead they present themselves, confidently, in our rear view reflection. The pieces in this collection are all named for bridges in Washington State. Most are connectors that cross the stoic Columbia River, others mark an important significance in my life.
