Learn the art of Sand Casting

Discover the magic of transforming molten metal into a one-of-a-kind treasure in a private, hands-on sand casting session with me. Whether you’re curious about the process or looking to create a personal piece of jewelry, this one-on-one workshop is tailored just for you.

During our time together, you will:

  • Work with me step-by-step to create a simple ring or pendant from wax. 

  • Learn the fundamentals of sand casting, from preparing the mold, to proper casting techniques and tips.

  • Learn finishing techniques to make your piece ready to wear: removing the sprue and polishing etc.

  • Leave with a completed piece that you’ve designed and crafted yourself.

No prior metalsmithing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity (and maybe a spark of inspiration). I’ll provide all the tools, materials, and guidance you need.

  • Duration: 5 hours

  • Location: My private studio in West Seattle

  • Ring or Pendant will be cast in Jewelers brass. Silver available for an additional fee. 

This experience makes a thoughtful gift, a memorable creative day for yourself, or a meaningful way to commemorate a special occasion.

NOTE: The focus of this class will be on learning the art of Sand Casting and less on wax carving, though we will address elements of wax and wax carving during the session.

READY TO CAST?: If you have a wax ready to cast, please email me images of it so I can verify that it will work. I'm happy to offer this class at a lower rate if you're ready to cast, and do not need the wax instruction portion of this class. 

Once you purchase your private lesson you will be sent an email with instructions for booking. We will coordinate to find the perfect time for you!

Cancellation, Reschedule & Refund Policy
Because this workshop includes limited seating and prep ahead of time, please review the following before booking:

Cancellations
If you need to cancel your spot, you may do so up to 7 days before the workshop for a full refund, minus any processing fees. Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop are non-refundable.

Rescheduling
Life happens! If you need to reschedule, you may transfer your booking to another date (if space is available) up to 72 hours before the workshop. Just send me an email and we’ll get you sorted.

No-Shows
No-shows or same-day cancellations are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.

Weather Contingency
This is an outdoor event, but we have a covered patio and an open deck. Unless it's crazy, we won't cancel for weather.

Metal

We use both brass and silver, along with 14k gold fill chains and ear wires for our jewelry pieces. Out brass is a high quality brass called "jewelers brass" which is a close color match to 10k gold. This alloy allows for daily wear that's waterproof and resists tarnish. 

Sterling items are all nickel free sterling silver.

Chains

All of our brass pendants are hung from 14k gold fill 1.2mm box chains. Sterling silver pend are hung from coordinating sterling silver 1.2mm box chains.

These beautiful chains are sparkly and yet substantial enough to stand up to the weight and scale of the pendants.

Care

It is in the nature of silver and brass to tarnish and I encourage you to embrace the evolving finish of the metal but HERE are my recommendations for caring for your Rebekah J. jewelry.

Orders will be shipped within 3-5 business days of order placement via USPS Priority Mail for $8 (domestic), or USPS First Class International for $18.

Domestic shipping typically arrives within 1-3 days.
