Learn the art of Sand Casting

Discover the magic of transforming molten metal into a one-of-a-kind treasure in a private, hands-on sand casting session with me. Whether you’re curious about the process or looking to create a personal piece of jewelry, this one-on-one workshop is tailored just for you.

During our time together, you will:

• Work with me step-by-step to create a simple ring or pendant from wax. 
  
• Learn the fundamentals of sand casting, from preparing the mold, to proper casting techniques and tips.
  
• Learn finishing techniques to make your piece ready to wear: removing the sprue and polishing etc.
  
  
• Leave with a completed piece that you’ve designed and crafted yourself.

No prior metalsmithing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity (and maybe a spark of inspiration). I’ll provide all the tools, materials, and guidance you need.

• Location: My private studio in West Seattle
• Ring or Pendant will be cast in Jewelers brass. Silver available for an additional fee.

This is a comprenhensive intorduction to both the wax carving and sand casting skills.

READY TO CAST?: If you have a wax ready to cast, please email me images of it so I can verify that it will work. I'm happy to offer this class at a lower rate if you're ready to cast, and do not need the wax instruction portion of this class.

From this low-tech, no soldering required, class you’ll come away with 3 unique brass or white brass hairpins. Perfect for the upcoming gift giving season, or for a festive evening with your pals. 

You will be provided with all the tools necessary, and ear plugs, as there will be some hammering required.
