DIVING DEEP INTO MY IDEAS //
Playing
I spent some time this last week at the beach with family and friends. The beach is always calling me, but I had an other motive for this last visit.
Last week I had an idea to make some wall hangings with some of our cut brass pieces. In true Rebekah J. fashion it quickly went from simple garland to more elaborate wall hangings with the use of driftwood. My little friends helped me collect the pieces, and we gathered quite a bag to take home and catalog.
There is no rhyme or reason other than what pleases my eyes.

Making these is a very intuitive and playful process. There is no rhyme or reason other than what pleases my eyes. I often move the parts around and around until it’s just right. I also dug into my stash of beads and other objects to finish off the designs.
The resulting 2 wall hangings are so lovely. They make the tiniest tinkling sounds and would be lovely hung on your door, or amongst art on the wall.
We’ve decided to auction these off to the highest bidder and donate 20% of the highest bid to the ACLU-Wa. Bidding will cease on Wednesday 10/21 at 11 am PST. Head on over to our Instagram post to place your bid in the comments. Below are the rules:
1. Comment with which wall hanging you’d like, 1 for Grey (first slide) or 2 for the Yellow Ochre wall hanging.
2. Bidding starts at $40 (retail at $150)
3. Bidding raises in increments of $5
4. Highest bidder after 48 hours wins. Bidding ends Wednesday 10/21 at 11 am PST
