SIGNETS - Family History made wearable: What my family chose from the new collection

"Dan put in his two quarters and began to get to work typing “I love you” - for the first time ever. Somehow something went wrong..."

When you’re married to a jeweler I’m pretty sure buying jewelry for them might seem hard or complicated. And perhaps you'd assume they'd prefer to make it themselves.

The truth be told, I’ve never made myself a personal and sentimental piece of jewelry. Because I’ve been too scared to let myself down! What the heck? It has always overwhelmed me.

I made jewelry for my bridesmaids at my wedding but I bought all of my accessory wedding jewelry because it stressed me out too much to make something so important for myself. It is the craziest thing.

But as the milestones have passed: 5 years, 10 years, and now coming up on 18 years of marriage, I really want to celebrate our accomplishment with some new bling!

We've been together since we were 18 & 19.

Dan and I have been together since we were 18 and 19. That's baby us in a photobooth on one of our first dates.

A few months after we began dating, he took me up in the Space Needle on a special date for my birthday.

They had a machine at the top where you could put in a few quarters and add a message to a commemorative Space Needle coin with letter stamps.

Dan & Rebekah Jaramillo on their first date, back in 1997

Dan put in his two quarters and began to get to work typing “I love you” - to tell me for the first time ever.

Somehow something went wrong and the coin came out with “I cove you” instead. He was so mad that he did another one, but the I cove you coin has always been my favorite. I added it to my keychain for a long time and eventually it was lost. But we still say it to each other from time to time, and the memory of the entire night is still really fresh - even after 27 years. Is that statement the equilivent of "back in my day" Good lawd I feel like I'm 1000 years old when I say 27 years!!

MY PICK FROM THE NEW SIGNET COLLECTION:

I am in love with all the pieces from the new collection but the one that truly calls my name is Signet 105. I absolutely love the way the ring tapers at the side creating somewhat of an hourglass shape when two of the same ring are placed side by side. I plan to pair with my wedding set to serve as a token of the total 27 years together and 18 years married.

My wedding set is made from white gold but you all know I am a mixed metal girl and I am so excited to make it official with a gold Signet 105, with a diamond.

And yes, I plan to engrave it with “I cove you”.

Luka's Pick:

Luka just turned 16 and I really wanted to get her a ring from this collection to mark such an important moment. I mean she’s not getting a car, HAH. But I think a special ring is pretty dang cool. I let her pick which one she wanted and she chose SIGNET 102 in sterling with her initials engraved in a script font. I think it will be the perfect piece of jewelry to mark this special time in her life.

Dan's Pick:

Dan, a dapper man, currently wears a white gold wedding band and a silver Loyal ring on the pinky of his left hand.

On his right he’s thinking of swapping out his Ebb ring for Signet 107 in Sterling.

I love that the somewhat substantial size of this ring makes it truly a unisex piece. The texture on the side of this ring really softens it and brings an organic quality.

I'll update with a photo of him here once we've got his. ;-) For now, you get my cute model, Luka.
